ikus reading circle
The ikus reading circle encourages interested people to personally explore subjects and texts treating social sciences and cultural psychology. It takes place on each 2nd and 4th Monday of a month and is free of costs. Only registration is required (see below).
Within ikus’ aim to create possibilities for further education and opportunities for scientific exchange, relevant theoretical approaches lcated at the interface of culture, society and the individual are being discussed.
The first section of the winter term is given to the book "Social Systems" by Niklas Luhmann.
In the second section, texts on media-theoretically inspired cultural science will be discussed.
After that, a classical work of phenomenology, namely Edmund Husserl's Encyclopedia Britannica article, will be discussed.
Finally, in January and February a selection of texts that can be assigned to the field of (philosophical) anthropology will be treated. The focus will be on the concept of Helmuth Plessner.
